- What are menstrual or period underwear?
- How do I care for my menstrual undies?
Washing your undies shouldn't be complicated, so we designed our products to be super easy to wash.
Step 1. Wash the undies before wearing them for the first time for maximum absorbency during personal use.
Step 2. After use, rinse in cold water (<30°) until water runs clear.
Step 3. Wash in cold water (now or later) with mild detergent. Hand wash is great. Machine wash is okay.
Step 4. Hang to dry (preferably under the sun).
Note: Don't use softener or bleach as this can decrease the absorbency of the underwear's natural fiber. Never machine dry or iron.
- What are the differences between your undies' styles and absorbency capacity?
For a light period, the Malana Period Underwear best suits this category. It can absorb 20ml-40ml (front to back) of menstrual fluid or equivalent to 1-2 pads or tampons.
For a moderate period, our Maliya, Halmista, & Dihas Period Underwear can hold up to 30-50ml (front to back) of menstrual fluid or equivalent to 1-3 sanitary pads. It also can absorb faster than our Malana.
For moderate to a heavy period, our Dana Period Underwear is made with specially formulated fabric that can repel and lock in moisture better than all other designs. It can absorb 40-60ml (front to back) of fluid. That's equivalent to 2-3 sanitary pads.
NOTE: We are confident with how our undies can hold your flow, but every women's period is different. If you think you are a heavy bleeder, or you have other options, then you can try our Mayumi Pads, Malaya Cup, or Sehana Disc.
- Is it free of harmful chemicals?
Absolutely! We take all of our client's health and safety very seriously. This is why all of our products are made from safe and eco-friendly materials.
All of our Period Underwear is tested and approved by OEKO-TEX (Switzerland). All products meet the human-ecological standard requirements.
- Can this replace my usual routine or protection?
This will heavily depend on how heavy your flow is. You can mix and match our products to know what best suits you. Again, every period & every woman is different.
- Where else can I use these underwear?
Aside from the regular periods, prenatal women, women with conditions that lead to urinary incontinence, irregular menstruation, and with postpartum discharge, have all proven to benefit from our period underwear.
- What is the lifespan of your period underwear?
Our period underwear can last up to 5 years if properly taken care of.
- How do I store my menstrual undies?
First, make sure that your undies are fully dry, and then you can just pop them in your regular undies drawer.
9. How can I change them when I'm outside?
As long as you have an extra pair with you, you can change it like your normal undies, and place your soiled undies inside your dry pouch.
