Product Guide & FAQs

HER Period Cup
1. What's a period cup?
A period cup is like your tiny, trusty sidekick for that time of the month.
Instead of absorbing flow like a pad or tampon, it gently collects it straight from the source — your cervix — giving you maximum protection without messing with your body’s natural balance.
It can hold up to three times more than regular period products, which means fewer bathroom trips and more freedom to move, dance, work, or just chill. Plus, unlike tampons, it won’t dry you out, helping your vagina stay happy and your pH levels healthy.
When it comes to leak protection, you're covered for 4 to 8 hours straight, depending on your flow. That's almost a full workday, gym session, or movie marathon without worry!
2. How to insert a Period Cup?
Getting started is easier than you think! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you feel confident:
- Wash your hands really well — clean hands are happy hands.
- Sterilize your cup before first use to keep things fresh and safe.
- Find your comfy position — sitting, standing, squatting, whatever feels best for you.
- Add a little water or water-based lubricant if you need some extra slip.
- Grip the cup firmly near the base — you’re in control.
- Fold the cup to make insertion easier. (There are lots of ways to fold — find your favorite!)
- Hold the folded cup with one hand, keeping it as low on the cup as possible.
- Relax your body and gently insert the cup into your vaginal opening at a slight angle, pointing it toward your lower back.
- Let go and let it "pop" open inside you — it should unfold naturally into place.
- Check the seal by running a finger around the base of the cup. It should feel round or oval, without any major dents or folds.
Once it’s in, you're good to go!
You can wear your cup for up to 8 hours, depending on your flow.
On heavier days, you might need to empty and reinsert 2 or more times — but you'll quickly get into your own rhythm!
3. What are the Types of Folds?
- Push-down Fold - Hold the cup between your thumb and third finger. Push the upper silicone ring deeply to one point with your index finger. Then grip the cup with your index finger and thumb while keeping the folded portion firmly together.
- C-Fold- Pinch the middle of the upper silicone ring with your index finger and thumb. Then fold it in half.
- 7-Fold: Hold the cup horizontally with the rim facing up. Press the sides of the cup inward to create a "U" shape. Bring one side of the "U" over the other, forming the shape of a "7" with the rim of the cup at the top and the base at the bottom.
4. How to remove and empty a period cup?
Removing your cup can feel a little intimidating at first, but don’t worry — with a little practice, it’ll be second nature! Here's how to do it:
- Wash your hands well — clean hands keep everything comfy and safe.
- Find your favorite position — sitting, squatting, standing... whatever feels the most relaxed for you.
- Bear down gently using your abdominal muscles to help push the cup lower. (Kind of like you’re doing a little mini push!)
- Pinch the base of the cup (not the stem!) to release the suction seal.
- Slowly wiggle the cup out, pulling gently from the pinched base along the grip marks.
- Empty the cup into the toilet — goodbye, flow!
- Wash and rinse your cup thoroughly with clean water or a gentle cup cleanser.
- On the go? You can reinsert a clean, wet cup if you don’t have a private sink nearby — the water helps it glide right back in.
Take it slow, stay relaxed, and trust your body — you’ve got this!
5. Is it free of harmful chemicals?
It’s certified under US-FDA, ISO 10993, ISO 13485, RoHS, REACH, and SGS, so you can feel confident with every use.

6. Is it Safe to Use?
Yes! Period cups are generally very safe when used as directed.
While risks are minimal, it's important to listen to your body.
- If you experience any discomfort or unusual reactions, stop using the cup and contact your healthcare provider.
- If you have any medical concerns, it's best to consult your doctor before trying a cup.
- If you’re allergic to silicone or latex, do not use a period cup or disc.
Your health always comes first!
7. How to sanitize my cup?
Always rinse your cup under clean running water first to remove any menstrual blood.
If you use mild soap, make sure to rinse thoroughly to avoid irritation.
For best results, we recommend our HER Period Cup Cleanser — organic, gentle, and anti-microbial.
-
By steeping in boiled water: Pop your cup into the collapsible sterilizer, fill it with recently boiled water, and let it steep for 5 minutes. Simple, quick, and ready to go!
-
In the microwave - Place your cup inside the collapsible sterilizer filled with water, then microwave for no more than 5 minutes.
Make sure the cup is fully submerged to avoid damage. -
In boiling water - Place your cup inside a rubber or silicone whisk and fully submerge it in boiling water for 5 minutes.
Caution: Avoid direct contact with metal surfaces to protect the silicone. -
Use of Electric Sterilizer:
For the best care and maximum antimicrobial protection, we recommend using an electric sterilizer.
It uses steam technology to conveniently and thoroughly sanitize any silicone period product.
8. When should I sterilize my cup?
Before Use:
Always sanitize your cup before first use using any of the methods mentioned above.
Emptying & Reinsertion:
Empty your cup every 8–12 hours, or as needed.
If you're short on time, rinsing it well with clean running water is fine for reinsertion.
Just make sure to fully sterilize your cup at least once a day if you're using it continuously.
Before Storing:
Before storing your cup after your cycle, it's best to clean it with an organic, anti-microbial soap like our HER Period Cup Cleanser. This keeps your cup fresh and ready for your next period!
9. Is it safe to use for women with no experience with sexual intercourse ("virgins")?
YES! According to medical standards, using period products like cups or discs does not affect a person’s virginity. This should never stop you from experiencing the comfort and freedom these life-changing products can offer.
10. Can I get internal injuries by using these types of products?
Your health is our top priority. Our period products are carefully designed without any hard edges or deep grooves, keeping them safe, gentle, and kind to your delicate reproductive system.
11. How can I know the right size for me?
You can follow the flowchart below:
HER Period Underwear

1. What are menstrual or period underwear?
2. How do I care for my period undies?
Washing your undies shouldn't be complicated, so we designed our products to be super easy to wash.
Step 1. Wash the undies before wearing them for the first time for maximum absorbency during personal use.

Step 2. After use, rinse in cold water (<30°) until water runs clear.

Step 3. Wash in cold water with a mild detergent — right away or later, whatever works for you. Hand washing is great, but machine washing is totally okay too!

Step 4. Hang to dry (preferably under the sun).

3. What are the differences between your undies' styles and absorbency capacity?
Light Flow: Our Classic Period Underwear absorbs 20–40ml (about 1–2 pads or tampons). Perfect for lighter days.
Moderate Flow: Our Mid-Waist Period Underwear holds 30–50ml and absorbs faster than the Classic. Great for regular flow days.
Moderate to Heavy Flow: Our Seamless Period Underwear and Period Shorts can absorb 40–60ml. Designed with special fabric to lock in moisture better — perfect for heavier days.
Note: Our undies are designed to be super reliable, but every period is unique.
If you have a heavy flow, you might want to mix and match with our Pads, Cup, or Disc for extra backup!
4. Is it free of harmful chemicals?
Absolutely! We care deeply about your health and safety. That’s why all of our products are made with safe, eco-friendly materials. Our Period Underwear is tested and approved by OEKO-TEX (Switzerland), meeting strict human-ecological standards for your peace of mind.
5. Can this replace my usual period protection routine?
Yes! Every period is different, and how you use our products depends on your flow.
Feel free to mix and match to find what suits you best!
6. Where else can I use these underwear?
Our period underwear isn’t just for regular periods. They’re also great for prenatal care, postpartum discharge, irregular menstruation, and even light urinary incontinence.
7. What is the lifespan of your period underwear?
With proper care, our period underwear can last up to 5 years — made to stay with you through every cycle.
8. How do I store my period undies?
Make sure your period underwear is completely dry, then simply store them in your regular underwear drawer — easy and ready for next time!
9. How can I change them when I'm outside?
Just bring an extra pair with you! When it’s time to change, swap them out like regular underwear and place the used pair in your dry pouch until you can wash them.

HER Period Disc
1. How to Insert and Remove the Disc?
Start with thoroughly clean hands and a sterilized disc. Find a comfortable position — sitting, standing, or squatting all work! If needed, you can moisten or lightly lubricate the disc for easier insertion.

Grip the disc lengthwise at the middle to make the rim as thin as possible.
The rim is the firmest part, making it easier to guide during insertion.Insert the disc into the vagina obliquely with the open side facing upward. If most of the disc is inserted, gently push the disc upward into its proper position.
The goal is to let the disc sit snugly between your cervix and pubic bone.
Use your index finger to gently tuck the rim behind the pubic bone to keep it in place.
Once positioned correctly, the disc can protect you for up to 12 hours — though we recommend emptying it every 6–8 hours, depending on your flow. It’s so comfortable, you might even forget you’re wearing it!
Removal is simple! Use your index finger to hook the rim and gently pull the disc out from behind your pubic bone. Empty the contents into the toilet.
Pro Tip:
Bear down slightly with your muscles — it helps the disc move lower and makes removal even easier!
Removing the disc can sometimes get a little messy, so make sure you’re in a comfortable place where a little flow won’t be a problem. Now, you can truly experience freedom — even during your period!

A period disc is designed to collect your flow without blocking the vaginal canal, unlike menstrual cups. It sits just below the cervix, leaving room for clean, mess-free sexual intercourse — even on heavy flow days.
4. Is it safe to use?
Yes! Period discs are generally very safe when used as directed.
Risks are minimal and unlikely if you follow the recommended guidelines.
If you experience any unusual reaction, stop using the product and contact your healthcare provider. If you have medical concerns or a known allergy to silicone or latex, consult your doctor first and avoid using a cup or disc.
5. How to sanitize my disc?
Before anything:
Always rinse your disc under clean running water to remove any menstrual blood.
Using our HER Period Disc Cleanser is a great option for a deeper clean.
You can sanitize your disc in four easy ways:
-
Steeping in Boiled Water:
Pop your disc into the collapsible sterilizer cup filled with recently boiled water. Let it steep for 5 minutes. -
In the Microwave:
Place the disc inside the collapsible sterilizer filled with water and microwave for no more than 5 minutes. -
In Boiling Water:
Leave the disc in boiling water for 5 minutes.
Caution: Don’t let it touch metal surfaces. Place it inside a rubber or silicone whisk and keep it fully submerged. -
Using an Electric Sterilizer:
For the best silicone care and antimicrobial protection, we recommend using our Hanan Electric Sterilizer. It uses steam technology for fast, effective sanitizing.
Important Note:
If you use mild soap for cleaning, make sure to rinse the disc thoroughly to avoid irritation. For best results, we highly recommend our HER Period Cup Cleanser, designed to be organic and anti-microbial.

6. When should I sterilize my disc?
Before Use:
Always sanitize your disc using any of the recommended methods before first use.
Emptying & Reinsertion:
Empty your disc every 8–12 hours, or as needed.
If you're short on time, rinsing with clean running water is fine for reinsertion.
Be sure to fully sterilize your disc again at least once every day of use.
Before Storing:
Before putting your disc away, give it a thorough clean with an organic, anti-microbial soap like our HER Period Disc Cleanser. This keeps your disc fresh and ready for your next cycle!
7. Is it safe to use for women with no experience with sexual intercourse ("virgins")?
Yes. According to medical standards, using period products like discs or cups does not affect virginity. This should never hold you back from experiencing the comfort, freedom, and confidence these life-changing products can offer.
8. Can I get internal injuries by using these types of products?
Your health is our top priority. That’s why all our period products are made without hard edges or deep grooves — keeping them safe, gentle, and kind to your delicate reproductive system.
9. How can I know the right size for me?
